Hotel Legasta was my favourite accommodation of our 2 week Japan trip. Clean, modern, comfortable with a lot of space to walk around and traditional tatami flooring as well as all amenities. Location-wise it was two subways (easy), one bus, or a $15USD taxi from Kyoto station. A few mins walk from Higashiyama station. It was also walkable to Ginza, and one bus to Kiyomizu-Dera (the big temple), and one bus to Fushimi Inari Shrine (torii gates). There were combinis across the street and also right beside a McDonalds. The area was quiet at night. We were only there for two days so we didn't use any communal amenities, but the room itself was well equipped with pajamas, kettle, fridge, toiletries, etc. You had to get coffee downstairs. Bed was SUPER COMFORTABLE. If we were staying in Kyoto longer, we would've extended our stay.

I stayed at this hotel and was extremely satisfied. The location was excellent: in Gion Higashiyama, close to many temples, shrines and alleys to visit, and just a short walk from the metro station, which made getting around very convenient. The rooms were spacious and impeccably clean, providing great comfort throughout the stay. But the real highlight was the staff, who were incredibly kind and helpful. They were always ready to assist with advice, directions, and even restaurant reservations. Additionally, they managed the luggage forwarding service to other hotel in Japan without any issues, making everything much easier. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great base to explore the city with maximum comfort and support. また近いうちにこのホテルに戻りたいと思っています. ありがとうございます.

We booked a Deluxe Family Room that was conveniently tucked away in the basement. We were so relieved because we won’t have to be too stress about the noise from the kids. The room interiors is a mix of traditional elements with modern touches and beautiful mini garden arrangement in our room is a work of art. The amenities were generous and fantastic. The toiletries were well equipped I didn’t have to bring our own. The space for the room and bathroom is perfect for a family of 4, making it easy for us the dress the kids in the bathroom. The kids have space to play in the room, lounge on the bean bags, and have a snack at the coffee table.

This was our favourite hotel in Japan. The value for money is impressive, and the room was beautiful. We loved the minimalist design and the use of wood in the room. The room is a bit bigger than the norm, and there was a lot of storage space for our luggage (at least by Japan standards). The staff were really kind and helpful, and we appreciated the breakfast option although it's pretty basic (continental style). The location is also fantastic: right next to bus stops and within walking distance of a subway station, Gion, and Pontocho Alley. Bonus: there's a hotel across the street with a bartender who makes delicious cocktails!

A wonderful little hotel where there has been added thought in little ways everywhere to make your stay extra special. The room was a great size compared to others in Japan and the bathroom was a reasonable size. The breakfast each morning was delicious, loved the personalised coffee cups, and the location was convenient for most things to do around Kyoto with train and bus stops right nearby. It really is the perfect Kyoto stay!
